We started the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy with one mission: to help children, adolescents, and young adults live more meaningful and productive lives. Both raising a child and being one are tall orders in today’s climate. And having a psychological condition often compounds the challenges. We envision a world where youth can succeed, both in spite of their challenges and because of them; where they will develop and implement the skills to overcome their challenges; and where they believe that they can accomplish anything to which they put their minds. View 6 Photos Our team of doctors includes specialists in a range of areas. We provide CBT for youth with anxiety disorders, trichotillomania, Tourette syndrome, ADHD and disruptive behavior, school refusal, autism and feeding disorders (e.g., ARFID). We also have a comprehensive DBT program for adolescents struggling with trauma, depression, self-harm, and suicidality. Our team is committed to compassionate, collaborative, and personalized care. We provide straightforward feedback, a clear plan of action, and practical strategies. To do our best work, we collaborate with parents, school personnel, and medical providers, and perform school-based observations and consultation when appropriate. We look forward to helping you!

Welcome to my site. I have been working with adolescents and young adults for over 16 years. I work with teens, young adults and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, disorder eating, OCD, phobias, ODD, suicidal ideation, ADHD, relationship issues, addiction issues, or family conflict. My therapeutic relationship with my clients is not formal therapist in a suit taking notes but more personal and informal. At times, kids have a hard time being drawn out, they aren't sure how to put their feelings into words, I am very good at helping them become comfortable expressing what's happening in their inner world. I work with clients using DBT skills, CBT exercises and talk therapy. I am open to collaborating with parents, with the client's consent, if that is deemed helpful by the teen or young adult client. Or it may be helpful for parents to see someone on our Parent Support Team in our practice. My style is active and engaging. We get to work each session to uncover what is happening for your adolescent or young adult and get to the heart of what's really going on to cause the mental health issues they are struggling with.

It takes so much courage to search for a therapist and reach out for help. Just by looking at this website, you are already taking steps towards something better. You can stop automatically reacting to thoughts, feelings, and sensations in ways that seem to only make things worse, like shutting down or exploding. Together, we can make space for tough feelings and discover how to live with meaning, purpose, and intentional action. I specialize in treating mood disorders, chronic pain, health issues and SSRDs, stress management (including professional and/or parenting stress), and prolonged grief disorder. I believe therapy should be focused and time-limited. I use evidence-based treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, Mindfulness-based treatments, traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and exposure-based treatments, such as EXRP and Prolonged Exposure. I also provide Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy. While I can't guarantee that worries, memories, negative self-talk, or unpleasant sensations will go away, I can help you relate to them differently so they no longer get in the way of you living fully. Your life can be different. Together, we will make change a reality.

Addiction is not a problem to be fixed, but rather a person. I have worked with many people with various addictions and realize that addressing one problem from one perspective is not enough. I specialize in getting to know a person first and then helping that person heal from past hurts, learn skills for problem-solving, improve communication, build strong relationships, practice ways to manage strong emotions, learn to slow down and change their harmful or intrusive thoughts, draw from their faith for strength, develop strong support systems, and with all this, hope of long-term recovery can become reality. View 4 Photos I specialize in alcohol and substance addictions, as well as situations that lead to addictions, such as, chronic mental illness, PTSD, gambling, sex addiction, past trauma and abuse, chronic pain, and more. I'll teach you to manage the uncomfortable feelings rather than feeling the need to escape them. I have worked as psychologist, professor, and supervisor for over 18 years and am currently the CAO at Rhombus University, training students to become mental health therapists.
