The path to my current practice was not straight or planned; I started as a music therapist, working in school-based settings with children with IEPs. My graduate-level creative arts therapy training inspired me to seek out opportunities to work with trauma and mindfulness. I started a nonprofit music and mindfulness community group program, primarily serving veterans, domestic violence survivors, and children and families of color living in poverty. I then worked as a child-parent psychotherapist with children 0-6 involved in child welfare and their caregivers. All of my experiences led me to my current creative arts psychotherapy practice, one focused on mindful, embodied care that is best suited to those healing early childhood trauma and attachment relationships.

I would like my prospective clients to know the following about me:

I will establish a relationship with you before I ask all the questions about all the hard things. I believe your history can emerge at whatever pace you feel comfortable. I will follow your lead on what you want to work on during your session time. Once we get to know each other, I may begin to invite you into creative, mindful, and embodied practices within sessions that you can also try at home for self-regulation, connecting to your parasympathetic nervous system, and practicing self-compassion. You may assess your progress by your own standards, depending on your goals, which we can determine together if you’re not sure where to start. I’m the best fit for someone who has experienced early childhood relational trauma and wants to shine a light on that aspect of their life in a safe space.
