I'm a licensed clinical psychologist, having earned my doctorate at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Yeshiva University. I did my internship at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in at-risk populations. I completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute focusing on interpersonal/relational psychotherapy, as well as recently completing a 2-year program at the White Institute focused on treating eating disorders, compulsions, and addictions. I see psychotherapy as a collaborative process to help individuals gain a fresh perspective on their lives, recognize repeating patterns in their behaviors and relationships, and find new solutions for old problems. My approach is psychodynamic and eclectic, balancing both depth and real-world focus to address the unique needs of each patient at the intersection of their physical, mental, internal, external, interpersonal, and sociopolitical spheres of experience. I have a particular passion working with individuals who find themselves outside of the narrow band of supposedly “normal” identity and desire, including people who are “kinky”/involved in BDSM, polyamorous, in open relationships, queer, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and/or trans* (transitioning or not transitioning). I endeavor to use my concentrated graduate study and clinical experience in these areas to provide a warm, open, and supportive space to facilitate exploration and growth.

My name is Dr. Stephanie Miodus, and I am a licensed psychologist specializing in comprehensive assessments for autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental needs. My goal is to help children, adolescents, and adults gain a deeper understanding of their strengths, navigate challenges, and access the right support. Using evidence-based tools like the ADOS-2, I provide thorough evaluations that offer accurate diagnoses and insights into social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and academic functioning. I also conduct specialized assessments for giftedness, private school admissions, selective mutism, and pre-adoption considerations. Each evaluation includes a detailed report and a personalized feedback session. My approach is collaborative, ensuring that each assessment leads to meaningful recommendations and actionable next steps. Beyond assessments, I provide social skills groups, executive function coaching, and autism-related consultations for schools and forensic settings. I also offer therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as coaching for parents, caregivers, and nannies. My work is grounded in a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach, incorporating evidence-based strategies that are individualized to each client’s needs. I have particular expertise in supporting neurodivergent individuals, adoptees, and individuals who have experienced trauma, including chronic illness, applying a trauma-informed perspective to my work.
