Have you ever felt better after a having a deep conversation? I view psychotherapy, which is largely a talk-therapy, as just that--having a deep conversation with someone. Only here, within the confidential confines of the consulting room, you are having said deep conversations with a licensed mental health professional, such as myself. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, so I place primacy of mental health on interpersonal relationships. I also received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, which had an emphasis on what is known as Depth Psychology. I have worked in community mental health and public behavioral health settings since 2010 in various capacities: health educator, HIV-testing counselor, substance abuse prevention counselor, nonprofit middle-manager, community organizer, case worker, and mental health clinician. As a depth psychologically informed licensed marriage and family therapist, I consider relationships to be the primary measure of mental health and wellness. Whether seeing an individual, a couple, family or group, my clinical orientation will always consider the emotional and symbolic depths of relational experience.

When someone lets me sit with them, listen to their stories, and be a witness to their pains, bravery, and strengths, I consider it an honor and a privilege. Through my personal and professional journey, I have learned, and wholeheartedly believe that every person already has what it takes in them to be content and happy. However, life has never been simple or easy, despite its beauty. Often we can lose sight of our unique and intrinsic strengths, beauty, and meanings when surrounded by the busyness of daily life, human suffering, and un-nourishing cultural messages. View 12 Photos I believe meaningful changes in therapy arise from the therapeutic relationship. I will show up to every conversation with respect, curiosity, compassion, and authenticity. My clients are the authors of their stories and of their own process of healing and growth. I see my therapeutic role as facilitator of a process of change through different modalities. If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate your time, and I’d love to hear from you. I understand that therapy is a big commitment and can be difficult for a variety of reasons, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for a brief conversation to see if I might be a good fit for your growth. I’m looking forward to our conversation.

Sometimes, people find themselves in chaos and unable to manage their own lives. Other times, people feel they are suffering in silence and going it alone. If this is what you are going through, know that you can reach out for the help that you need. Therapy provides you with an opportunity to confront your problems, learn new ways to cope, and help you grow in your personal development. I work with individuals to uncover and work through unresolved issues in an effort to regain control of their lives. Through the process of therapy, you can learn to recognize how unhealthy patterns can have a negative impact on your life and alternatively, replace them with more adaptable ones so you can begin to make lasting changes. I hope to provide a safe space for this process to occur and for you to feel supported in our collaboration.
