My name is Samantha Bauer, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I mainly work with individuals that are experiencing depression, anxiety, and OCD. In my therapy sessions I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space to allow you to discuss and explore your experiences. It is my belief that a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation of any counseling experience. I utilize a person-centered approach in my therapy sessions. It is my belief that you are the expert in your own life. It is my job to be here to assist you as you explore, gain insight and awareness, and work toward change I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to address unhelpful thinking patterns that create a lot of our anxiety. Unhelpful thoughts lead to unhelpful feelings and behaviors that can keep you stuck in your life. I will assist you on the journey of identifying and challenging these unhelpful thinking patterns which will allow you to take your power back, calm the mind, and move forward in your life.
